Most photographers only get internationally recognised after years of developing new projects and battling the constant fight for a place in this competitive area. Mário breaks this rule and does it with flare. Graduated in photojournalism, when he was only 19 years old he became a collaborator for LUSA/EPA.
In 2012 he started working on his personal projects in the field of photojournalism and within just 3 years he was awarded 6 grand prizes, among which: Winner of Magnum Under 30, winner of the World Press Photo – Contemporary Issues and winner of Picture of the Years International.
His work was published on Newsweek, New York Times, Washington Post, El País, among others.
